REALTOR® Refresher!
New members are required to take mandatory education as prescribed in the Bylaws. Requirements and deadlines will be disseminated via email. The below information serves as a brief introduction/refresher to some of the many services and opportunities available to you as a REALTOR® member of the Navarre Area Board of Realtors®.
Joining us as a REALTOR® member, you are automatically a member of both the State and National associations, joining some 1.1 million real estate professionals in the largest trade organization in the world. Each level of the REALTOR® association structure provides benefits that are equally powerful for members. The following information helps to explain just a few of the many benefits from all three levels:
Your National Association, NAR, unites all REALTORS® and ensures: Your voice and the collective voice of all REALTORS® is heard in Washington;
that you have the most updated industry information; that the REALTOR® brand is key to bringing you success. Your NRDS Number is your unique National database identifier. You'll need this to access your account and valuable discounts and benefits.

MLS Service
NABOR maintains a multiple listing service via flexmls for the use of its members. The login site for members is www.ecn.flexmls.com Your credentials will be emailed to you by NABOR Staff. Help can be obtained by contacting Flexmls Help Hotlines: Toll-free Support at support@fbsdata.com or call 888-525-4747 from 8 am to 9 pm Central Time (Monday - Friday). There are also instructional webinars available on the MLS home page of the MLS.

Professional Standards and the Code of Ethics
The 1913 Code of Ethics consisted of 23 articles categorized as “Duties to Clients” and “Duties to Other Brokers.” It obligated members (who wouldn’t be known as REALTORS® until 1916) to “be absolutely honest, truthful, faithful and efficient”. Today, every new REALTOR® member is required to take at least 2 1/2 hours of Ethics training. You can satisy this mandatory requirement by taking one of the quarterly classes offered at the Board or online.

Legislative Affairs
NAR advocates policy initiatives to create a sound and dynamic U.S. real estate market that fosters
vibrant communities in which to live and work. Since 1969 NAR PAC has been promoting the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates across the United States. During the last federal election cycle alone, NAR PAC contributed over $12 million to pro-REALTOR® candidates to Congress, making it the number one trade association political action committee in the nation. Why has RPAC been successful? Because NAR PAC is not a charity. PAC is a business. Members are invoiced a "fair share voluntary contribution" annually. Learn more about RPAC

Florida REALTORS® Legal Center
Get the advice and resources to help you understand real estate license law and property issues. Hot topics, Do Not Call Registry, Legal FAQ, Webinars and more. Legal advice for members of the Florida Association of Realtors® is just a phone call away at 407.438.1409. FAR Legal Hotline attorneys answer questions about real estate license law and related real property issues. Attorneys also offer legal interpretations of the FAR and FAR/BAR standard business forms and contracts.
What You Need: Your personal Florida real estate license number (you may not use your corporation number or the number of any other licensee). If you are asking a question about a specific transaction, be prepared with all the documentation available.
Technology Helpline
The Power of the Technology Helpline: chat, email or call one of the FR computer experts for technical support. The Tech Helpline support team is available to answer Florida Realtors® members' questions Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Just call 407.587.1450 and have your membership information handy (nrds # & license #).
Community Outreach & Housing Opportunity Programs
REALTORS® are ideally situated to improve housing opportunities where they live. They are the first stop for the prospective homebuyer or renter. Accordingly, REALTORS® can reach out – through personal involvement in their own communities – to those who need greater access to quality, affordable homeownership and rental opportunities. Closer to home, Santa Rosa County recognizes the need to provide residents with a variety of quality affordable housing choices. The Housing Program’s primary purpose is to improve housing opportunities for the benefit of low and moderate income families. The goal of the Housing Program is to create partnerships, maximize resources and identify new strategies to develop and preserve affordable housing. Monthly meetings are held at the County offices on Caroline Street in Milton on the first Wednesday of the month.

REALTOR® Logo
Tell them. Show them. Wear your REALTOR® pin with pride. After more than a decade of Public Awareness Campaign advertising, the National Association of REALTORS® has established the clear value and differentiation of REALTORS® in the minds of potential home buyers and sellers. As a result, nearly three out of four consumers would choose a REALTOR® to buy or sell a home rather than a real estate professional who is not a REALTOR®. REALTORS® are encouraged to distinguish themselves from ordinary licensees by promoting and using the REALTOR® logo, but of course, to safeguard its integrity, there are strict guidelines, click here.
REALTOR® Status
Your REALTOR® status is considered provisional until your membership has been approved by the Board of Directors and you have completed the required training. You will be asked to officially swear the oath to uphold the REALTOR® values and abide by the Code of Ethics. You will then receive a REALTOR® lapel pin to wear with pride.
The Oath
By joining the Navarre Area Board of REALTORS®, you are taking your place among the true professionals of the real estate industry. As a member, you will become recognized as a business leader in your community. Your actions will be governed not only by the laws of the state, but also by the principles of honesty and fairness contained in the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
You will find many opportunities to use your talents within the organization, for the betterment of your business.
You will be called upon for help in many ways…for community service programs; for programs of the REALTOR®. Association at the local, state and national levels; for legislative action issues that guide our business.
When the call comes, it may be at an inconvenient time. It may be for something you have not done before. But when the call does come, answer with a willingness to participate.
The Realtor Association is your Association.
